what to expect

01. guiding, not commanding.

I’m not here to show up for an hour, bark commands, and leave you feeling unsure about what just happened or what the result will be. Whether you’re a seasoned pro at having photos taken, or it’s something new and anxiety-ridden for you, I believe the best photos come from authentic moments where you can enjoy yourself and feel inspired. I’ll guide you through it, but by the end you might feel like I just crashed your date (or even forget I was there).

02. no studios, ever.

If you’re looking for a traditional studio-style portrait session, I’m not your girl. I thrive in the sunlight and that’s where I feel in my photo element, so I would never want to sign you or myself up for something best suited for another photographer.

03. tradition, schmadition.

Look, there’s nothing wrong with a good tradition. I’ve done the same thing on Christmas Eve for basically my entire life. But keeping tradition because you love it, and keeping tradition because it’s expected are two different things. When it comes to your wedding or even a simple photo session, nothing should ever be done out of expectation. Let’s make sure your day is exactly what you want it to be.

04. investment, not expense.

If you’re new to paying for photography, you might be experiencing a little sticker shock. But trust me, these prices aren’t arbitrary, and you will regret if you cheap out on your photos (especially for a day you get only once, like your wedding). I do not aim to be the cheapest photographer; I take a lot of time and care to make sure your photos are everything you wanted and more, and I want to attract the clients who are drawn to my style and skill, not my price. I encourage you to view photos as an investment in memories that will last the rest of your life; not merely an expense to check off. See Pricing.

05. timeless, evocative, nostalgic.

If I had to pick three ways to describe my photographic style, these would be it.

time·less /ˈtīmləs/

not affected by the passage of time or changes in fashion.

e·voc·a·tive /əˈväkədiv/

bringing strong images, memories, or feelings to mind.

nos·tal·gic /näˈstaljik,nəˈstaljik/

characterized by or exhibiting feelings of wistful affection for the past, typically for a period or place with happy personal associations.
