Travel Blog: Los Angeles

Following our trip to San Francisco, we had plans to spend three days in Yosemite National Park. The day we left for Yosemite, we had breakfast at a waffle house near San Francisco and then embarked on the roughly 4-hour trip to Yosemite in our little rental car. At breakfast we had learned that snow was expected on Yosemite’s weather report, but braved the trip anyway, thinking at the very least we’d find things to do near our tent-cabin.

After arriving and seeing seeing the place where we had booked to stay, we realized that if the snow fell as fast and heavy as was expected, we’d be trapped with next to nothing to do for three days. So we decided to leave for Los Angeles early, and booked a last minute AirBnB in North Hollywood during the 5-hour trek to L.A. Luckily, this meant we had time to relax for the remainder of our trip and we got to see and do more in L.A. than originally planned.

We arrived in Los Angeles around 1am and went directly to sleep. We managed to squeeze quite a bit into the next four days: a hike up Runyon Canyon, a visit to Universal Studios, a WB Studios tour, a dinner at Cheesecake Factory in The Grove, a hike in Charmlee Wilderness Park (this hike and the drive there were two of my favorite parts of the whole trip… do people know about this place?!), a visit to Malibu Pier, a day in Santa Monica walking around the pier and shopping center, and a trip to Venice Beach.
